The First Hundred Words in French
Review by JayCee
Read by ‘Mamon'

This book is about French. I like all the bebe’s. We found le bebe on every page. We also found le canard on every page. Le canard is a duck. I learned that la fille is a girl and many other French words. I don’t think I learned 100 though.

Parent addition.

The beautiful illustrations offer a wonderful opportunity to search for ‘le chien’ or ‘la chat’, as well as several instances of all 100 words. At the back of the book there is a pronunciation guide to help remember the difference between an English ‘train’ and a French ‘train’ (tran). There is also a delightful ‘matching page’ containing 30 of the words. While I don’t guarantee overnight fluency, I do guarantee hours of fun hunting ‘le mutton’ or anything ‘vert’ .
If you want to slightly expand the hunt try asking where or what in French:
“where is..” “ou est…
“what is…” “quel est…”
